With more than a quarter century of industry experience, Sandy is recognized as an innovator behind the adoption of advanced analytic technologies for Big Data. Before co-founding 1010data, Sandy was a Vice President and manager of research and technology at UBS North America, where he contributed significantly to the evolution of the firm into a leader in the use of advanced technologies. Previously, as Senior Vice President at Lehman Brothers, Sandy led the effort to migrate mortgage-backed securities analytical programming from mainframes to workstations. Earlier in his career, while a Vice President at Morgan Stanley, Sandy was responsible for product development and analysis of fixed-income securities. He pioneered the research and development of many complex financial instruments and designed and implemented the software required to analyze them.
A 40-year veteran of the technology and financial services industries, Joel is widely recognized as a leader in the use of technology on Wall Street. Before co-founding 1010data, Joel was Managing Director and head of research and technology for all non-equity trading at UBS North America. Previously, Joel was Managing Director and head of Global Fixed Income Research and Technology at Morgan Stanley and was responsible for that firm's widely recognized technological superiority. Earlier at Morgan Stanley, Joel led the Analytical Proprietary Trading Group (APTG), renowned for being the first to employ scientific methodologies to uncover and exploit inefficiencies in the stock market. Under his leadership, the APTG traded as much as two percent of the New York Stock Exchange's daily volume because of the high degree of real-time automation it provided. Earlier in his career, Joel spent eight years at IBM, where he was responsible for research, systems engineering and front-office analytics systems.
Greg oversees the firm’s business operations including strategic growth initiatives, business development, sales, and partnerships. Previously, as Chief Revenue Officer, he developed and drove the firm’s go to market strategy. During his tenure he grew the customer base to more than 700 customers and launched the company’s data cloud. Greg expanded 1010data from its financial services roots to other sectors including retail and consumer packaged goods. Prior to his role as CRO, he led the financial services division, which he grew to more than 100 customers. He holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Rochester.
T.C. Fleming brings to 1010data 20 years of corporate finance experience. Prior to joining 1010data, T.C. was a director in Duff & Phelps' Corporate Finance Consulting practice. Most recently, T.C. served as a senior advisor to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court on select finance and accounting issues arising from the Lehman Brothers' bankruptcy. Previously, T.C. was a Senior Equity Analyst with an alternative investment fund focused on small- to mid-cap investments. Earlier in his career, T.C. spent nine years working at Deloitte in their Transaction Advisory and Assurance practices. T.C. received his M.B.A. in finance from New York University's Stern School of Business and his BBA in accounting and computer applications (double major) from the University of Notre Dame. He is a certified public accountant licensed in Illinois and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Steve brings the skills he developed in the financial services industry to bear in leading the development of new 1010data solutions aimed at the financial markets. This industry has increasingly used 1010data’s cloud-based analytics platform to gain deeper insights into large data sets in order to improve business decisions.
He previously launched new information and analytics businesses at Equifax and MasterCard Advisors and grew them into multi-million dollar organizations that served dozens of buy and sell-side firms. Prior to that, Steve was head of Market Strategy for Equifax's Consumer Information Solutions business and an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company.
As Chief People Officer, Terry brings more than 30 years of experience in information technology and talent management to 1010data. Most recently, Terry served as the Global VP of HR and Organizational Development for AGT International, an IoT analytics firm, where she developed and implemented global organizational processes and talent management strategies. Prior to AGT, Terry served six years as VP of Human Capital Strategy & Operations for Paragon Solutions, an enterprise information management consulting firm. In this appointed position, Terry was responsible for rapidly scaling the organization’s solutions practice, while overseeing HR strategy and operations. Early in her career, Terry spent over 21 years at Fujitsu Consulting, where she held a wide range of technical and leadership positions from programmer to VP of US Resource Management & Operations. Terry graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Scranton with a B.S. in Computer Science.
As Chief Scientist at 1010data, Adam brings both a generalist's multidisciplinary orientation and over 20 years of deep experience in high-performance scientific computing, functional programming, and parallel processing to the task of designing and building the company's core analytical functionality. Prior to joining 1010data, Adam was a computational neuroscientist at Weill Cornell Medical College and at UCLA, with earlier stints at Preference Metrics LLC in San Francisco, the Neuromorphic Systems Group of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, and Coopers & Lybrand LLP. He holds a Ph.D. in neuroscience from UC Berkeley and a B.A. in linguistics from Columbia University and has authored or co-authored over 15 scholarly publications in several fields.
A recognized leader in the field of Big Data analytics, Afshin has led several teams in designing, building and delivering predictive models and analytical products to a diverse set of industries. Prior to joining 1010data, Afshin was a Managing Director of Mortgage Analytics at Equifax, where he was responsible for the creation of new data products and the supporting analytics to the financial services industry. Previously, he led the development of various classes of predictive models aimed at the mortgage industry during his tenure at Loan Performance (Corelogic). Prior to that he worked at BlackRock, the research center for NYNEX (present day Verizon), and Norkom Technologies. Afshin's publications span the fields of data mining, data visualization, optimization and artificial intelligence.
Jed Alpert brings more than 20 years of international B2B marketing experience with technology growth companies to 1010data. Most recently he served as Managing Director of Global Marketing at Pertrac (acquired by eVestment), a global provider of hedge fund analytical software. Previously, Jed led global marketing for WebCollage, a SaaS based marketing solution linking manufacturers and retailers. Jed has also held management positions with Wolters Kluwer, the global business information service provider and InterWorld, the global ecommerce software company. Jed began his career in consulting with the Washington, D.C.-based Advisory Board Company and possesses an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley and BA from Emory University.
As VP of Engineering, Dan oversees our systems development and focuses on making 1010data the fastest, most reliable big data discovery & sharing platform on the web. He has been instrumental in scaling our solution to gracefully manage petabytes of data with world-class reliability and fast query response time, and has overseen multiple major version releases including versions 5, 6 and 7. Earlier in his 8-year tenure at 1010data, Dan worked on numerous critical development projects across the company including the Trillion-Row Spreadsheet and various MBS data products. Before joining 1010data, Dan was a developer at Accenture on the Global Architecture Team building custom enterprise management software. Dan holds a BS in Computer Science from the University of Rochester.
